February is National Mentoring month, volunteers are needed to read books to childern

Connecting volunteers to current community needs, developing volunteer opportunities that focus on health, transportation, and continued learning, RSVP and the Volunteer Center of Central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom is your
invitation to serve.

American Cancer Society and Central Vermont Medical Center position looking for a Cancer Resource Volunteer.  The volunteer would assist patients and staff in the chemotherapy suite one morning a week, performing such tasks as:  providing food, drink and blankets to the patients; visiting with patients; connecting patients to American Cancer Society (and other) resources.  The volunteer should possess patience, a compassionate nature, and excellent listening skills.

 RSVP and the Volunteer Center of Central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom is an invitation to serve.  Sponsored by the Central Vermont Council on Aging it is a national program designed to provide opportunities for persons of any age who continue to remain actively involved in the life of their community.  A member agency of Lamoille County the  aim is to develop specific volunteer opportunities that utilize the particular skills and interests of each individual volunteer, at the same time keeping an eye to what needs to get done in the community. Offices in Barre, Lyndonville, Morrisville and Newport .
