What is RSVP?

Hi, I’m Joy Huckins-Noss, your new coordinator for RSVP and The Volunteer Center in Central Vermont, covering Washington County.  I have lived in the Central Vermont area for over 30 years.  My home is in Calais with my husband, Jim, and son, Andrew (17). We also have 2 daughters, Amy (21), a senior at UVM, and Alexa(23), a recent graduate of Worcester State College.|
My work background is in volunteer management and mental health as well as education. I was the volunteer coordinator for RSVP many years ago, and became the first volunteer manager at Central Vermont Medical Center.  I have also taught art to children in elementary school, at Calais Elementary, and I am a certified Vermont teacher .Most recently I have taught painting and drawing to adults at Studio Place Arts in Barre. I enjoy painting and drawing landscapes in pastel and oil, showing and selling my work in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York.
I am very excited to be working at RSVP and look forward to meeting all of you. You are an inspiring group of individuals and I expect to learn much from you. Hopefully I will be able to help you achieve your goals of serving the community with your special skills and time. I also look forward to visiting community organizations that serve folks in the Washington County, utilizing the experience and expertise of RSVP volunteers. You can contact me at 828-4770 from 9-5, Monday through Friday.
